Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – The Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library has a workshop, a volunteer opportunity for teens, and more scheduled for later in May.

It will be hosting a 3D printing workshop for those aged 13 and up on May 19 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the TeenHub Makerspace.

The workshop will introduce participants to the basics of 3D printing, including how printers work, how to safely operate, maintenance techniques, and how to create custom 3D designs.

Chris Turner of the NEA 3D Printing Club will lead the program. No registration is required.

Then, on May 20, the library is inviting teens in the 7th through 12th grades to volunteer as the library prepares for its 2026 Summer Reading Challenge. The program will take place that day from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Round Room.

During this session, participants will learn how to create buttons featuring design submissions from area teens. Those who participate will earn one hour of community service, with service hour certificates to be distributed at the program’s end.

“This community service project is built around celebrating teen creativity and hard work — from submitting their original designs, to cutting and pressing each button by hand! I am so proud of the active, empowering community our young people are fostering right here at the library,” said Michaela Huss, teen librarian, in a news release.
