Jonesboro, AR – (Contributed) – Arkansas State head baseball coach Mike Silva announced Wednesday the return of left-handed pitcher Chase Richter for the 2025-26 season.

“Getting Chase Richter back is monumental for our program,” said Silva. “He is a proven winner and he brings toughness and leadership that cannot be understated. His presence not only on the field, but in the way he approaches the game every day will benefit everyone in our program.”

Richter joined the Red Wolves ahead of the 2025 campaign, making 28 appearances to rank third in the conference and 30th nationally, alongside one start. The Tomball, Texas, native ranked 38th nationally and second in the Sun Belt with eight saves. He posted a 3.67 ERA and a 3-4 record while limiting opposing hitters to a .198 batting average.

“I’m fired up to be back in an A-State uniform,” said Richter. “I’m really thankful for the opportunity to come back and finish what we’ve started. This community means a lot to me. Jonesboro has always shown love and I’m excited to get back out there and compete for them.”

Prior to joining A-State, Richter played for two seasons at Nicholls, and spent time at Northeast Texas CC.

In Silva’s first season as head coach, the Red Wolves went 26-28 (14-16 SBC), and clinched a spot in the Sun Belt Conference Championship tournament for the first time in four years.

Richter and the rest of the Arkansas State baseball team will take the field in the season opener on Friday, February 13 against Stony Brook at Slayton Family Field in Tomlinson Stadium.
