Jonesboro, AR – (Contributed) – Arkansas State volleyball (19-8, 12-4 SBC) secured a third consecutive sweep on Saturday afternoon inside First National Bank Arena, defeating Old Dominion 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-17) on Senior Day.

Addsion Collum led the team with nine kills on a .500 attack percentage while Daedrianna Cail recorded a team-high seven blocks. As a team, the Red Wolves tallied 37 kills and 10 service aces on a .247 percentage, and posted eight blocks alongside 41 digs defensively.

After evenly splitting the first 16 rallies with Old Dominion, a bad set followed by a kill from Payton Van Veen sparked a 7-1 run and opened a 15-9 advantage. The opposition countered by taking four of the next six rallies, but Collum stonewalled the effort with the first of six kills in an 8-1 run that was capped by a service ace from Cail to clinch the opening set.

Collum broke a 5-5 tie early in the second set, landing back-to-back kills in what would become another significant run for A-State. A 14-4 run established a 19-9 advantage before both teams exchanged 4-0 runs, but a kill from Kaitlin Whitlock paired with a solo block from Cail secured the Scarlet and Black’s eighth consecutive set dating back to Nov. 8 at South Alabama.

The Red Wolves’ advantage did not increase beyond three rallies in the third set until a 6-0 run highlighted by four kills from Bailey Hall created a 19-12 lead. The next 10 rallies were evenly split between the teams, but kills from Whitlock and Cail followed as A-State secured one more home victory before postseason play begins.
