Jonesboro, AR – Contributed – The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at Arkansas State University will host three virtual financial aid completion nights this month using Microsoft Teams to help future Red Wolves prepare to start their education.

“This event is designed to help students with their last steps for their aid and for scholarships,” said Jacqueline Sosa, coordinator of community engagement and outreach.

The three events, held April 21-23, will go over three different topics.

“The Financial Aid Completion Nights are designed to help students and families finish any remaining financial aid steps before the semester begins,” said Tia Wallace, associate director of financial aid.

At each of the three sessions, beginning on Tuesday, April 21, students and their parents can attend virtual sessions to learn about a myriad of topics. From 5 – 6 p.m., the focus will be on understanding financial aid offers.

From 6 – 7 p.m., attendees will learn more about accepting and managing scholarships. Each session will conclude from 7 – 8 p.m., where the focus will be on FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), where attendees can get completion assistance.

“During these virtual sessions, our team walks participants through key items, while also answering questions in real time. The goal is to make the process less overwhelming and ensure students are fully prepared and financially cleared to start classes with confidence,” Wallace added.

Incoming freshmen and their parents can attend any of the three drop-in sessions.

Advance registration is required. Students can register by clicking here.

Bam! Pow! Krakoom! The everlasting allure of the American comic book

Pick one up. Be seduced by its glossy cover. Gaze upon the impossibly muscular body clad in a skin-tight suit. Our hero or heroine will surely be soaring, shouting, blasting a villain into next week. They are ridiculous. They are addictively great. Comic books, of the superhero variety, are 100% American.
