Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Court documents show that an attempted fraudulent purchase at a local travel center helped investigators link a man to a residential burglary in Jonesboro.
District Judge David Boling found probable cause on Jan. 20 to charge 19-year-old Aaron Deshaun Ishmon with the following:
- Class B Felony: Residential burglary
- Class D Felony: Theft of property – credit/debit cards
- Class A Misdemeanor: Theft of $1,000 or less (from a building)
According to the affidavit, on Oct. 28, 2025, officers arrived at a home on Glitterman Drive for a burglary that already occurred. They were able to find the victim in the street with others at a home on Saddlecrest Drive.
The victim told officers that they were able to find some of the stolen items at the Saddlecrest address due to identifying the suspect from camera footage at the time of the theft. While the victim was unable to identify the suspect at the time, they knew the suspect was associated with the address. Among the stolen items were a PlayStation 5 video game console and a pair of shoes. The victim said the suspect entered through an unlocked window, stealing several items from inside her home.
The affidavit said a detective contacted the victim for further investigation. The victim said that in the incident, her banking card was stolen, and she was notified of suspicious activity at a local travel center. The Saddlecrest address owner was then contacted, who provided two names of suspects who stole the victim’s items, one of whom was Ishmon.
The homeowner told the detective that she had video from her home showing Ishmon and the other suspect returning next to her home with the stolen items. The homeowner’s son, who the affidavit said was friends with the suspects, said that while he was dropping his sister off at work, they stopped at the local travel center.
The affidavit said both suspects entered the business and fraudulently used the victim’s banking card. However, the attempted charge was declined due to not having the pin number at the time of use.
A warrant was later issued for Ishmon. He was later found in White County and arrested. He was then extradited to the Craighead County Detention Center and booked in at 3:53 p.m., Jan. 16.
Ishmon is being held on a $50,000 cash/surety bond and awaiting his next scheduled court appearance for Feb. 27.
