Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – The Friends of the Library (FOL) will be holding its second annual FOL Book Sale later in November at the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library (CCJPL).

Sale items include all gently used books, movies, games, and puzzles, and everything will be half-off. For example, hardcovers, which are typically $1, will be $0.50 each and paperbacks, which are typically $0.50, will be $0.25 each.

“These proceeds go directly to the Friends, which in turn go directly to our library,” CCJPL marketing and public relations manager Rylie Yawson said.

She added that FOL funds mostly go toward the CCJPL’s free programming and other services, including computer services, resume checks, notary services, and more.

The FOL is also accepting donations for the sale, which can be made until the sale begins. The library does not accept donations on Saturday. Accepted donations include hardbacks, paperbacks, kids’ books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, puzzles and games.

“If you’ve got a bunch of books that you would like to donate to be used in the book sale, we heavily encourage you to donate to the library over the next week or so,” Yawson said. “If you have a rather large donation, we do recommend that you call the library so our staff can expect you. But if you’ve just got a handful of books that you’d like to drop off, you can visit the circulation desk, or you can go to the information desk directly behind the computers to donate books.”

The sale will take place Nov. 21-23. First up will be the member preview sale, which is for active FOL members only. This will be Nov. 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the CCJPL Round Room, located at 315 W. Oak Ave.

FOL memberships are $25 and are available online. Click here to register. Memberships can also be purchased at the door on the day of the event.

“Anyone can be an FOL member with a small donation,” Yawson said. “So essentially, they will have that first access.”

A two-day open sale, which is open to everyone, will follow on Nov. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Nov. 23 from noon to 4 p.m. in the CCJPL Round Room. All sales will be cash only.

“We want people to come excited,” Yawson said. “This is perfect timing if you want to stock up your bookshelf or if you are trying to gather holiday gifts. This is also perfect if you’ve got friends and family that love to read. Use this as an opportunity to be able to provide them gifts this season.”

To make a donation, call the library at 870-206-9994 or 870-935-5133. For more about the Friends of the Library or CCJPL programing and services, visit the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library website.
