Craighead County, AR – Contributed – A burn ban has been issued for Craighead County effective immediately and until further notice.

This directive was agreed upon by the Craighead County Office of Emergency Management, Craighead County Judge Marvin Day and in collaboration with the Arkansas Forestry Services, due to extreme heat, dry conditions, winds, and growing concern for firefighter safety.

The burn ban prohibits all outdoor burning until further notice. This measure is necessary to reduce the risk of wildfires due to the current weather conditions and rapid drying of vegetation.

Enforcement & Exceptions:

The burn ban will be enforced by the Craighead County Sheriff’s Department, local fire district officials, the Craighead County Office of Emergency Management, and the Arkansas Forestry Services.
