Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Stephanie A. Hoffman announced her candidacy for Craighead County Tax Collector on Friday. She is running as a Republican.

According to Friday’s news release, she has worked in the Craighead County Treasurer’s Office for six and a half years. She is currently the Deputy Treasurer. Before that, she worked for over three years in accounting in the banking industry. She holds a bachelor’s in accounting from Arkansas State University.

“With my background in accounting and years of hands-on experience managing the county’s finances, I’m ready to ensure the Collector’s Office continues to serve our citizens with efficiency, transparency and care,” Hoffman said in the news release. “I want to make the process of paying taxes as easy and convenient as possible for everyone in our community.”

Hoffman’s announcement comes as the current tax collector, Wes Eddington, prepares to retire.

“I am grateful for his support and confidence in my ability to continue the high standard of service that our citizens expect and deserve. My number one goal is the safety and security of all public funds. With the incredible team already in place, I have no doubt that we will continue the work without skipping a beat,” she said in the news release.

Hoffman was born and raised in Craighead County. She has been married for nine years and is a mother of two children. She is a member of Central Baptist Church.
