Jonesboro Library to host New Year’s events

Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – The Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library is inviting kids of all ages to celebrate the new year.

On Tuesday, Dec. 30, the library is inviting tweens in grades 4-6 for Tween Neon Night, a celebration in which participants are encouraged to dress in their brightest neon colors and “enjoy a vibrant evening filled with glowing fun,” according to a library press release.

This will take place from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Round Room of the library.

On Wednesday, Dec. 31, there will be a New Year’s concert as part of the library’s Winter Staycation.

Mömandpöp will perform a concert for kids and families, with a ball drop and a toast scheduled for noon. There will be two showtimes: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 3 to 4 p.m. This will also take place in the Round Room.

That same day, from 4 to 5 p.m., will be the New Year’s Eve Gaming Get-Together. This event is for teens from seventh through 12th grade.

Teens can play tabletop games and will compete in a video game tournament to ring in the new year. This will take place at the TeenHub Gaming Zone at the library.

Registration is not required to attend the events. The library is located at 315 W. Oak Ave.
