Jonesboro Police investigate fatal train accident

Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Jonesboro Police and first responders were on the scene of a fatal train accident Sunday afternoon.

According to a post on the Jonesboro Police Department Facebook page, E-911 Dispatch received a call around 4:30pm Sunday that a train had struck a pedestrian.

The incident happened in the area of Ellis Lane and Prospect Road along the Union Pacific railroad.

The train was stopped while investigators were on the scene. Police were urging drivers to use an alternate to the Prospect Road / Kathleen crossing.
