Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Aug. 27, 2025 – Police arrested a Jonesboro woman after they said she crashed into a house while driving intoxicated and ran from the scene.

According to an affidavit, on Aug. 26, Jonesboro police officers were dispatched to a home on Rosemond Avenue for a crash. Before officers arrived, dispatch was advised the crash involved a house and the woman driving the vehicle, 28-year-old Mariah Alexander Brewer, was running on foot staggering down the road.

When they got there, the Jonesboro Fire Department told officers which direction Brewer was going, and they found her lying face down in the grass.

Police said Brewer’s eyes were bloodshot, and she was slow to respond. The affidavit said she was taken to a nearby hospital, where she admitted to officers that she had between four to six glasses of wine. Blood was drawn from Brewer, after which she was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center.

The affidavit noted that the house had sustained “significant structural damage.”

On Aug. 27, Craighead County District Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause to charge Brewer with leaving the scene of an accident with property damage only – less than or equal to $10,000, second-degree criminal mischief with $5,000 or more in damages, and driving while intoxicated.

Brewer is being held on a $35,000 cash/surety bond awaiting her next scheduled court appearance on Oct. 30.
