Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – A Jonesboro woman is being held on a $150,000 cash/surety bond after police said she forced her way into another woman’s home during a fight and attacked her, injuring her.

On April 12, Jonesboro police officers were dispatched to Belt Street for a disturbance. The victim explained that she had retreated into her home to avoid a fight with 32-year-old Mary Alice Thomas and was unable to lock the door before Thomas forced it open and came inside.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Thomas attacked the victim, causing an injury around her right eye. Officers noted swelling and redness in that area. The victim added that she fell during the incident, and Thomas kicked her in the head. Surveillance footage confirmed the victim’s statements of her and Thomas getting into an argument and pursuing the victim into the home.

Thomas was arrested on April 25, according to the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office jail roster. She appeared the following Monday in front of District Judge Tommy Fowler. He found probable cause to charge her with aggravated residential burglary (Class Y felony) and third-degree battery/purpose of causing injury (Class A misdemeanor).

In addition to the $150,000 bond, Thomas was ordered to have no contact with the victim.

Thomas is scheduled to be back in court on June 26. If convicted on all charges, she faces up to life in prison and fines up to $2,500.
