Jonesboro, AR – (Contributed) – KASU 91.9 FM, the public media service of Arkansas State University, is holding Fall Fund Drive 2025 Part Two beginning Monday, Nov. 3, through Friday, Nov. 14, on-air from 6 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.

The continuation of the Fall Fund drive is part of KASU’s efforts to offset recent funding challenges due to the elimination of federal support for public media.

The KASU Fall Fund Drive goal was $50,000, with $32,000 remaining. The 10 day drive will be an opportunity for the public to help the station reach that important goal.

One may donate by calling 870-972-2200. Donations can be made online anytime here or by downloading the KASU mobile app. KASU listeners become members by making financial contributions to the non-commercial educational station.

KASU celebrated its 68th anniversary earlier this year, having signed on the air on May 17, 1957, making it the oldest public radio station in Arkansas.

According to Mark Smith, KASU station manager, “KASU and public media nationwide are facing some unique challenges.

“Public broadcasting has been excluded from future federal budget plans, and the funds that had already been appropriated for public broadcasting for the next two years were abruptly rescinded. We are more dependent than ever on the funding from our loyal listeners, supporters and underwriters.”

KASU has been an NPR member station since 1971. In addition to locally produced news and music programs, KASU pays to receive programming from NPR, American Public Media and other sources.

“KASU will continue to serve our communities to the best of our ability. Even if you are not a listener of KASU, having a public radio station in your community is a good thing, a feather in the cap, a selling point. KASU is a good thing for our community, and it is worthy of support.”

Listeners may call 870-972-2200 during regular business hours, Monday through Friday. More information, including ways to donate, can be found at KASU’s website or its Facebook page. One may also contact Rayna Kingston at rkingston@AState.edu or LaDawn Fuhr at lfuhr@AState.edu for more details.
