Library Clock Tower Lightings Will Celebrate A-State and Local 2026 Graduates

Jonesboro, AR – Contributed – During the month of May, Arkansas State University will light the clock tower of Dean B. Ellis Library in special recognition of graduating students, as it has in recent years.

The tower will be scarlet Saturday evening, May 9, to salute new A-State graduates following Spring Commencement ceremonies at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. that day in First National Bank Arena.

The tower will be green the previous evening, Friday, May 8, to recognize ROTC cadets who are graduating and commissioning into military service.

As various local high schools conduct their graduation ceremonies this month, many on the A-State campus, the clock tower will be lighted in a school color on or near the day of graduation, according to this schedule:

  • Gold for Nettleton High, Friday, May 1
  • Gold for Jonesboro High, Saturday, May 2
  • Blue for Valley View High, Sunday, May 3
  • Blue for Paragould High, Monday, May 11
  • Red for Brookland High, Tuesday, May 12
  • Blue for Marked Tree High, Wednesday, May 13
  • Red for East Poinsett County High, Thursday, May 14
  • Green for Greene County Tech, Friday, May 15
  • Green for Ridgefield Christian School, Saturday, May 16
  • Blue for Wynne High, Sunday, May 17
  • Red for Westside High, Monday, May 18
  • Purple for Bay High, Tuesday, May 19

The final graduation celebration lighting will be blue for New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine at A-State, Friday, May 22.
