According to the probable cause affidavit, the victim told officers the people in the vehicle showed up to his home to fight his children. When he exited his home, two unknown men got out of the car and one of them pointed a gun at him. Before the vehicle sped off, the same man pointed a gun at the victim again.

Police interviewed 20-year-old Joell Leo Scott, of Fort Worth, TX, who admitted to being at the victim’s house and getting into an argument with them. He went on to admit that he pointed the gun at the victim while in the vehicle before leaving the scene. He was arrested and booked into the Craighead County Detention Center as a result.

Scott appeared before District Judge David Boling on June 26. Boling found probable cause to charge Scott with one class D felony: aggravated assault. Due to having no connections to Craighead County, he was given a $75,000 cash/surety bond. He was also ordered to have no contact with the victim.

Scott’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 30. If convicted, he faces up to six years in prison and fines up to $10,000.
