May Neighborhood Cleanup Scheduled in Jonesboro

Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – Jonesboro’s next Neighborhood Cleanup is scheduled for this Saturday.

The May Neighborhood Cleanup is set for Saturday, May 2, from 8 a.m. to noon at Annie Camp Junior High School, located at 1814 W. Nettleton Ave. Cardboard and glass recycling services will be available at the cleanup. It is for city residents only.

Accepted items are listed below:

  • Clothes
  • Tires (limit to eight, no rims)
  • Basketball goals
  • Furniture (includes electronics such as TVs, computers and printers)
  • Appliances such as dryers, washers and fridges (freon and compressors must be removed)
  • Paint cans (must be empty of all paint, lids must be removed, and any residue must be dry)

The city will not accept the following:

  • Yard waste/limbs
  • Tractor/semi tires
  • Hazmat materials, such as oils, flammable or corrosive materials, automotive parts, or motors
  • Remodeling/construction materials (single pieces are accepted, however)

“Thank YOU, residents, for answering the call to participate in the neighborhood clean-up! And many thanks to our City’s Code Enforcement and Sanitation Departments, as well as the Keep Jonesboro Beautiful Commission, for working together to keep our city clean and green,” a City of Jonesboro Facebook post announcing the cleanup said. “It takes us all, and together, we can continue to keep Jonesboro beautiful!”

During April’s cleanup, the city reported 9.38 tons of trash and 57 tires collected.
