Multiple departments respond to Thursday afternoon fire in Brookland

Brookland, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Aug. 22, 2025 – Multiple departments responded to a structure fire Thursday afternoon in Brookland.

According to a news release from the Brookland Fire Protection District, crews responded to a fire at Marck’s Recycling, located on Missouri Street. The fire occurred around 3:40 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21.

The release said when crews arrived, they faced a “large fire, heavy smoke, and flames” leading up the walls and out of the roof.

It took about 60 firefighters and 12 apparatuses to contain the fire, the news release said.

The Jonesboro Fire Department, Philadelphia Volunteer Fire Department, Lake City Fire Department, Paragould Fire Extinguisher, Inc., and Southern Green Fire Department also responded to assist with manpower and provide truck support.
