Craighead County, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders issued an executive order Tuesday granting additional funding for communities affected by April’s severe storms and flooding.

The order allocates $100,000 from the Governor’s Disaster Response and Recovery Fund to be “used at the discretion of the Director of the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management to defray both program and administrative costs.”

Sanders allocated $450,000 of funding for disaster relief in October, $1.5 million in August, as well as an initial $250,000 in April. President Donald Trump declared the situation a major disaster in May.

On April 2, the National Weather Service confirmed an EF-3 tornado ripped through Craighead County, including Bay, Lake City and Monette. After the storms hit, the area faced severe flooding.
