State Officials Announce Fair Housing Outreach Event in Jonesboro

Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – The Arkansas Fair Housing Commission, operating under the State Department of the Inspector General, has announced an upcoming community education and outreach event to promote housing equity, consumer legal protections, and accessible homeownership across Northeast Arkansas.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and will be hosted at the Northeast Arkansas Board of Realtors (NEABOR) office, located at 912 Congress Circle, Jonesboro, AR 72401.

Under the leadership of Director Iverson Jackson, the commission’s outreach effort is designed to connect local residents with critical housing resources, enforce state and federal fair housing and lending laws, and address ongoing industry issues such as appraisal bias.

The event brings together an array of federal, state, and non-profit organizations to provide comprehensive assistance to the community:

  • Arkansas Fair Housing Commission: Representatives will be on-site to educate residents on their rights, investigate housing discrimination complaints, and enforce lending protections.
  • Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA): Presenting its mortgage program, NACA will highlight affordable homeownership paths featuring no down payments, no points or fees, below-market fixed rates, and credit score-free consideration.
  • Legal Aid of Arkansas: Providing essential legal assistance focusing on equal access to justice, consumer protection, economic justice, and securing housing rights—specifically emphasizing protection from domestic violence.
