Top Journalism and Mass Communication Students Inducted into Kappa Tau Alpha

Jonesboro, AR – Contributed – Eleven Arkansas State University students have been inducted into the Kappa Tau Alpha (KTA) honor society.

KTA is a college honor society that recognizes academic excellence and promotes scholarship in journalism and mass communication.

“Membership is a mark of high distinction and honor,” noted Dr. Holly Kathleen Hall, professor of strategic communication and A-State chapter adviser. Hall served as KTA national president, 2018-20.

The students who were induced are Eman Saleh Ayash of Arlington Heights, IL; Meredith H. Spencer of Kenbridge, VA; Rebecca Scott of Atascadero, CA; Seth Haver of Chicago; Shira Kelley of Rockport, AR; Kali Bellomy of Orlando; Michelle Nelson of Jacksonville; Gabrielle Davis of Little Rock; Marites Olano of Orange County, CA.; Victoria Satory of Magnolia, TX; and Danielle Kreutter of Denver.

Kelley was named the top graduate scholar for the 2026 class.

The seventh oldest national honor society, Kappa Tau Alpha was founded at the University of Missouri in 1910 at the world’s first school of journalism. The society has around 100 chapters and has inducted around 75,000 students since its founding in 1910.

Kappa Tau Alpha is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies, the nation’s only certifying agency for college and university honor societies. More details about Kappa Tau Alpha are online.
