Tornado siren in Jonesboro down for repairs

Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Sept. 23, 2025 – A tornado siren is temporarily down for repairs.

According to a Facebook post from the City of Jonesboro, an outdoor tornado siren located on Colony Drive is not in operation due to it needing repairs. The post said parts have been ordered for the siren.

The City said in the post that outdoor siren coverage areas overlap. However, with increased chances for severe weather today, the City encouraged residents to remain weather aware.

In Jonesboro, there is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Between a quarter and half an inch of rain is possible, according to the National Weather Service.

Tonight, there is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with showers and a thunderstorm likely after 4 a.m. Rain amounts of a quarter to a half of an inch are possible, the NWS said.
