Jonesboro, AR – (Contributed) – The Arkansas State women’s basketball team is partnering with the Warm and Loved program to offer fans free admission to Saturday’s home contest against South Alabama.

A-State will be collecting winter hats, scarves, and gloves during Saturday’s game, and anyone who donates these items will receive free admission to the 2 p.m. contest. All the collected items will be given to the Warm & Loved program, a student-run community service project at Jonesboro’s Visual & Performing Arts school. Students in the fourth-grade ACE class at VPA bag the winter items, add notes of encouragement, and make them available to the public for free by placing them on the chain-link fence near the school on Wilkins Ave. in Jonesboro.

Warm & Loved also provides hats, scarves, and gloves to other area schools as well as the Jonesboro Police Department for distribution to those in need.

In addition to the collection of these items, Saturday’s game will also feature a Hijinx Kids’ Zone on the concourse of First National Bank Arena. The free Kids’ Zone will have inflatables and other games and activities for young fans and will open along with FNB Arena doors at 1 p.m.

Plus, Santa will be in attendance at Saturday’s game, posing for photos, meeting with fans, and taking part in several in-game contests and promotions.

Fans unable to take part in the hat, scarf, and gloves drive can still get $4 tickets to Saturday’s contest as part of A-State’s Howliday Deals promotion. To take advantage of the offer, fans are encouraged to go online, where there are ticket savings available on all home basketball games during the Holiday Break, as well as men’s and women’s basketball and baseball season tickets.
